We offer Upward Flag Football for Kindergarten – 12th Grade and Cheerleading for Kindergarten – 8th Grade. Games are on Saturdays with practices being once a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. Practices and games last about an hour.
Registration opens May 1, 2026
Early bird registration: $180 from June 1st – June 30th
Normal Registration: $200 from July 1st – August 22nd
Evaluations are Thursday, August 20th & Saturday, August 22nd from 6-7:30 pm
Last Names A-L can arrive anytime from 6:00-6:40 pm
Last Names M-Z can arrive anytime from 6:45-7:15 pm
End of Year Celebration will take place November 14, 2026.
VOLUNTEERS – COACHES & REFEREES
We would love for you to be much more than just a spectator this Football/Cheer season as we work together to make this the very best sports experience for your child. Please consider being a head coach, assistant coach, or referee.
All of our volunteer coaches and referees must do the following:
- Sign a liability waiver
- Complete a background check form
- Complete online child abuse training
Use the appropriate links to sign the liability waiver and download the background check form. Once completed, the background check form can be submitted to the church office during business hours. When you volunteer, you will be sent a link for the online child abuse training. Thank you for your willingness to serve and for helping us ensure the safety of all participants in our Upward Program. We can’t do this without you!
Upward Basketball and Cheerleading
We offer Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for kindergarten through 8th grade.
Upward Basketball games for kindergarten through 4th grade take place in the Fruit Cove Baptist Church ROC Gym. The games for 5th – 8th graders take place at Freedom Crossing. We offer coed Kindergarten teams, boys’ teams in 1st-8th grades, and girls’ teams in 1st-7th grades.
Our season will begin in January of 2027. Look for registration and volunteer information in the Fall!

Upward Sports is the only organization that offers the 360 Progression™, a uniquely designed total sports experience that adapts and expands as players grow in their personal athletic journeys. The 360 Progression develops total athletes mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially – producing players who excel both on and off the field.
FCBC offers Basketball and Cheerleading in the winter as part of the Upward ministry and Flag-Football with Cheerleading in the Fall. Upward volunteers are our church members and members of our community who come from all walks of life and are involved by praying for the program, coaching a team, refereeing a game, or sharing a devotion.
