Bio

Jonathan and Kimberly Wilson have been married since 1997. They have one daughter, Alaina, who is currently a student at The Baptist University of Florida. Jonathan decided to follow Jesus as a young boy and felt God’s call to ministry while on a mission trip to South Korea as a college student. He has served as Pastor to Families and Missions at Fruit Cove since 2016 and is currently serving as Pastor of Missional Outreach and Interim Pastor of Discipleship.

Prior to coming to Fruit Cove, he served as Pastor of Equipping at Alpharetta (GA) First Baptist Church. From 2002-2011 Jonathan served at the North American Mission Board where he was on the Mobilization Team with primary responsibilities to the World Changers and PowerPlant student missions initiatives. Before NAMB he was Minister to Students at Salem Baptist Church (McDonough GA). Other student ministry roles were served in Texas and Virginia. Jonathan has a Broadcast Journalism degree from Liberty University and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was in television news prior to vocational ministry as News Assignment Editor and Sports Reporter at WSET-ABC13 (VA) and News Assignment Editor at KTVT-CBS11 (TX) where he was part of the Emmy Award-winning team coverage of the Amber Hagerman case that resulted in the national Amber Alert system.

An avid sports fan, his pro sports teams can be found in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and of course he follows the Jacksonville Jaguars. Virginia Tech and Liberty are the main college teams he cheers for. He enjoys hiking, going to the beach, reading, and watching sports.
