It’s a certified 5K course: 5K USATF certified course # FL18047TY
The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road race courses of accurately measured distances. For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course. In addition, the certification program is very important to the average road racer, as well as those of exceptional speed. Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.
Fun Run – The 1-Mile Fun Run will be held on the backfield of Fruit Cove Baptist Church. The start / finish will be at the north end of the field. There will be fun obstacles and a surprise color splash at the finish line. This run is intended for youth ages 12 and under. Parents or adults that would like to accompany their fun runner do not need to register.
Everyone who completes the 5K race will be awarded a participant medal.
Additional awards will be presented to the top three men and women overall, first master’s male and female overall, and the top three in each of the following male and female age groups: 10 & under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80+.
