Overcoming Anxiety 07

So much of the Old and New Testament concerns itself with the concept of peace. Though many other verses could be quoted, these listed below should be a place to start in memorization and meditation. Mastering these verses… JUST THESE… will begin the process of diverting us away from anxiety and toward experiencing the peace of God. The Word of God will transform us if we will sit with it long enough for that to happen. If you are struggling with anxiety on any level, read through the list below and take one verse at a time… slowly reading and repeating it enough and EVERY TIME anxiety raises its head use the verse to keep your mind and heart in the right place. Next week we will deal more completely with the idea of renewing our minds with God’s Word. But this should give you a place to begin.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in Thee.

Trust ye in the LORD forever; for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

He called the altar Jehovah-Shalom…the Lord is peace.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him.

He Himself is our peace.

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.

May the God of peace transform you completely as you meditate on His Word!
