LOCAL: Jacksonville – Hope Church Cedar Hills

I’m from Jacksonville, Florida.  I was born and raised up on the Northside of town and I’m married to a beautiful lady from Douglas, Georgia-Coffee County.  We met 32 years ago and we have been married for 31. We have 4 adult children:  Sheal’tiel, Alexis, Diamond and Alexander. We also have 5 grandchildren!  (Christian, Keilah, Ethan, Jusiyah & Kahlon) 

We Love Jesus more than we love each other. We are incredibly serious about guarding our marriage relationship because it’s the first institution that the enemy will attack.  We are Best Friends.  We still date on a weekly basis. God called me to plant Hope Church at Cedar Hills and it has been an amazing experience. I served as a youth pastor for over 20 years and was never interested in leading a church until my sending church Pastor Josh Glymph encouraged me to pray about an opportunity to do a revitalization with a Church on the Westside of Jacksonville.  My wife and I began to pray for God’s perfect will to be done if this was the direction He wanted us to go.  We started praying in the parking lot of the church after our Date Nights on Tuesdays, or just whenever we were close by, leaving work, etc.  God began to give us a burden for the community. I worked right around the corner at the Barbershop for five and a half years, so I met a lot of people from the area.  We launched the church on Easter Sunday morning, April 20th 2025, by baptizing our first new member and God is still writing our story. 

Prayer Requests:

That God would send the lost and the saved to our church

That God send more leaders to our church; people who are Compassionate, Faithful and Humble.

That God would use Hope Church to be a Lighthouse of Prayer, Love and Direction in the Community.
