Russ & Cathy Matthews
Cathy and Russ Matthews have a background in business and education. They loved their work, church and family life in Iowa until one day, when they heard a mission presentation at their local church. As they began considering the opportunities of entering the world of missions, the Matthews received godly counsel, studied God’s Word and prayed extensively about what the Lord wanted from them. After committing to enter the mission field, Russ continued to work as a pharmaceutical representative as he worked on his Master’s degree at the local seminary, along with raising support. Cathy and the family learned about the culture and worked to help prepare to head overseas. Upon achieving their support goals, finishing a Bible degree and heading to the field of Australia, they worked with the church planting efforts of ABWE and Workplace Evangelism of City Bible Forum. Over their 20 years on the field, they have been part of three church plants, including their current church, Rouse Hill Bible Church. Cathy has actively participated in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and various church ministries (Children’s and Women’s). Along with the ministries of City Bible Forum, they have been the catalyst in starting and growing the works of Third Space, Reel Dialogue and God in 60 Seconds. Russ has authored three books to complement the ministries of Reel Dialogue – The Word Becomes Film, Reel Marriage & The Maker’s Quest.
