PTT Update 062821

Thank you to all who participated in the Pastoral Transition Team’s church survey, and to all the FCBC staff and PTT team members¬†who contributed to the survey’s development and dissemination. The survey was a great success! We closed out the survey on June 27th with 746 online responses and several hard copy responses. Those hard copy responses will be folded into the online survey data including any comments received to give us a final, complete number of survey returns. The PTT is now moving into the analysis phase of the survey and will be culling through the results to identify trends while gaining insight into the responses provided by the congregation. That data will then be summarized in the church profile document we are working on which will hopefully be complete, or mostly complete, prior to our September 12th Townhall Event.

The Townhall Event is the next major portion of our communication campaign with the church to allow you all to participate in an open forum panel discussion on subjects and concerns you may want to address related to the process of searching for, finding, calling and confirming a new candidate for our senior pastor role. We will have six panelists to field your questions. Those panelists will consist of the chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Pastoral Transition Team (Dustin Kanady and Jeffrey Crick), the Executive Director of the Florida Baptist Convention (FBC), Tommy Green (member of FCBC); a senior consultant from the FBC, Craig Culbreth (member of FCBC), Bob Bumgarner of the Jacksonville Baptist Association who is functioning in a consultant role to the PTT during this process, and a consultant from the external search company being engaged by the PTT on behalf of FCBC to conduct the actual search for a senior pastor candidate. Be on the lookout for other promotional information on this event. I highly encourage people to come and attend, as well as participate in the discussion. We will give the congregation a chance to ask questions through a portal ahead of time as well as live from the floor of the main sanctuary during the event.

Thank you again for your support to this point of the process. Please continue to pray for us as we certainly need and desire the power of prayer interjected into the process as well as our continuing decisions and deliberations.

Dustin Kanady, PTT Chairman

Pastoral Transition Team 06162021

The church survey launched by the Pastoral transition Team went live two weeks ago. To date we have collected responses from 560 respondents. 90.36% of our respondents are church members and 9.64% of respondents are non-members. The running tally for those responding so far breaks out as 61.78% female and 35.34% male. 2.88% of respondents preferred not to give their gender and 144 skipped the question altogether. The two largest groups of people responding to the survey as represented by age comprise those who are between 50-59 years old (20.67% of all respondents) and 60-69 years old (24.52% of all respondents). Groups we would like to hear from that are currently underrepresented are the 16-19 age group (2.64% of all respondents), the 20-29 age group (5.77% of all respondents) and the 30-39 year age group (9.86% of all respondents). We are encouraging these younger demographic groups within the church to take the survey. If you need an older guy (for once) to show you how to access the Internet and take the survey I am happy to refer you to two of our oldest populations within the church – the 70-79 and the 80-89 years old demographics. To date they represent 18.51% of respondents – showing a lot of tech savvy!

Our goal has not changed as a church. We still want to collect surveys from at least 20% of registered and non-registered members or 850 respondents. We are 65.8% of the way to that goal and encourage everyone who has not taken the survey to do so. Please remember that the survey will only be open through June 27, 2021. That time is rapidly approaching! On June 27th at midnight the survey will be taken down to allow the PTT members to begin to tabulate the results. Help us reach that goal. Help us make this a huge success!

Please note – if you or someone you know is not tech savvy and wish to fill the survey out in hard copy format instead of online through the PTT website, you can get a hard copy to fill out by coming to the pavilion each Sunday in between services and after the 11 AM service. We will be happy to collect those responses from you as anonymously as the web page does. You may fill the survey out right then and there, take the survey with you and drop it off at the office later, or drop it in one of the drop boxes around campus. The PTT will be given these responses and will manually add in the information you recorded including your short answer responses.

Thank you in advance for taking the survey. You are making it easier for us to create a church profile and give candidates and prospective new members a snap shot of the church’s makeup and the importance it places on issues that affect the church. God bless. Keep your prayers coming for the transition process and our team! We thank you for all you are doing and for you playing a role in the process.

PTT 06022021

The church survey was officially launched on June 26, 2021. It has been a week since it was launched, and to date we have collected 398 survey responses. Our membership roles contain 4,253 members as well as an undisclosed number of non-registered people who regularly attend FCBC. To date, 91.46% of the 398 respondents are church members and 8.54% of respondents are non-members. Of those responding so far, 63.76% are female and 33.8% are male. Our goal as a church is to collect surveys from at least 20% of registered and non-registered members or 850 respondents. We are almost half way to that goal and encourage everyone who has not taken the survey to do so. Please remember that the survey will only be open through June 27, 2021. At that time we will take the survey down and begin to tabulate the results.

One additional note, if you or someone you know wish to fill the survey out in hard copy format instead of online through the PTT website, you can get a hard copy by coming to the pavilion each Sunday in between services and after the 11 AM service through June 27th. There will be hard copies for you to fill out. We will be happy to collect those responses. You may also take the survey with you and drop it off at the office later or in one of the drop boxes around campus. The PTT will be given these responses and will manually add in the information you recorded. All responses will remain anonymous.

Thank you in advance for taking the survey. It is very important to the work we are doing on the Pastoral Transition Team.
