Caring for the Carolinas

Who: Fruit Cove Relief Team

What: Hurricane Florence is now considered the worst natural disaster to ever hit the state of North Carolina.

When: Leave Fruit Cove Monday, October 22…return Saturday, October 27 (or as needed based on personal schedules)

Where: Our team has been assigned to Warsaw, NC, located right off I-40 between Raleigh and Wilmington…we’ll be working with the Eastside Baptist Association

Why: 900 project requests from a 2-county area have come into the Association office…they need help from people like us to help residents recover from the storm!

How: Our focus will be “Tear Out”, working to get damaged dry wall, etc out of homes that were flooded

Cost: you will be responsible for meals en route to and from; lodging and meals (described to me over the phone as country cookin’!)  on site are provided at no cost

What To Bring: bedding (sleeping bag or sheets for beds that are provided, pillow), work clothes [more detailed list will be shared soon]

Our local contact in NC shared the following quote with me which hangs in their Associational office: Stop asking God “what’s next?” if you’re not faithful with what’s now!

What’s Next: Email Jonathan (jonathan@fruitcove.com) if you haven’t already done so…then plan to attend an informational meeting THIS Sunday, October 7 at 9am in ROC 201.
