Ecuador Earthquake Response

Over the weekend, powerful earthquakes struck Northwestern Ecuador and Southern Japan. Hundreds have been killed (over 350 in Ecuador alone) and thousands have been injured.

The families of victims and survivors need our prayer and support. Pause now to pray on their behalf.

Southern Baptists and other evangelicals are mobilizing efforts to serve the needs of survivors in these places. Meeting physical needs through food, water, medicine and emergency shelters often opens the doors to meeting spiritual needs through hope and faith in Christ.

You can help immediately by giving in any of the following ways to help underwrite these efforts:

  1. Baptist Global Response – BGR undergirds the work of Southern Baptists worldwide and partners with others who are like-minded. Baptist Global Response is not an official entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, but it is rooted in the soil of Southern Baptist life and committed to helping Southern Baptists who care connect with people in need around the world. Keep informed on BGR’s ongoing response in Ecuador, Japan and other places around the world. Give today to support their ongoing efforts.
  2. Samaritan’s Purse – SP is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  You can keep informed of their response and give today to support Samaritan’s Purse.
  3. Alternatively, you can give through Fruit Cove online or by designating your check for earthquake relief and we will direct it through Baptist Global Response on your behalf.

Thank you for supporting the work of disaster response around the globe.
