Our Mission

At Fruit Cove, we’re actively pursuing what we refer to as our “E3 Strategy.” We believe that this church exists to Equip  the people with God’s Word, Engage the culture with God’s Truth, and Embrace the world with God’s Love.

Engage the culture with God’s Truth

To engage the culture is to live as a missionary. The first priority of a missionary as he or she lands in a new culture is to learn the language of the people. Through language, people express their wants, needs, dreams, desires, likes and dislikes. Understanding the language is the first key to understanding the context in which people live.

Our goal as a church is to know and understand the cultural context in which God has placed us. And, as we understand the culture, we recognize the needs of the people with whom we live, work and play. Our response to their needs is to invite them into a relationship, serve them in love and see how their needs are confronted by God’s word.

Inviting into a relationship means we reach out to people around us, seek to understand their needs and then find ways to help them see their needs fulfilled. Often times, a Sunday School class, Community Fellowship Group or a women’s or men’s ministry groups provide just the link to serve the needs around us.

As we serve others, we seek nothing in return for ourselves. Rather, our goal is to help people experience God’s grace and forgiveness in their lives and find joy in day-to-day living.

It is the goal and desire of Fruit Cove Baptist to not only become followers of Christ but to extend the hand of Christ to those in our community. As we do so, the Gospel – the reality of God becoming man in Christ who lived a perfect life, died a painful death and was raised again from death to live forever – intersects with the needs of people around us. The confrontation of God’s truth with our culture is not negative, but a natural and normal result of God’s perfection colliding with our world’s imperfection in a way that brings reconciliation and redemption.

Al‑Anon is a mutual support group. Everyone at the meeting shares as an equal. No one is in a position to give advice or direction to anyone else. Everyone at the meeting has experienced a problem with someone else’s drinking.
