WANT TO BECOME A MEMBER?
At the end of each service a public invitation is given. At this time you are invited to go to the front of the sanctuary where our Pastor or another designated counselor will assist you.
You may become a member of our church family in any one of the following ways:
- By profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to be followed by believer’s baptism (immersion).
- By promise of letter from another Southern Baptist church where you are now a member. Our church will write for your letter.
- By statement of your prior conversion and baptism in another Christian church or as a candidate for baptism.
The basis of authentic church membership comes through trusting Jesus Christ as one’s personal Lord and Savior. If you would like to know more about the Christian life or if you have any other questions regarding church membership, please feel free to e-mail our pastoral staff.
CONNECTING THROUGH CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
Over 30 years ago a small group of people had a vision from God that there should be a church in this rural area of Fruit Cove. With only a two-lane road and a handful of people this church found its beginnings in the Switzerland Volunteer Fire House. Now, surrounded by homes, Fruit Cove Baptist has a membership of over 3,000 people with close to 1,500 people attending worship. Fruit Cove Baptist is a Southern Baptist church that belongs to and supports not only the Jacksonville Baptist Association and the larger Florida Baptist Convention, but also the Southern Baptist Convention.
Fruit Cove Baptist wants to help you get to know its heritage, as well as, what we believe. Led by Dr. Tim Maynard, an Ashland, KY, native for the past 18 years, Fruit Cove has made a name for itself in surrounding communities. Its purpose is encapsulated by the acronym E3: Equip the people with the tools necessary to Engage the culture in dialogue about the person of Jesus Christ with the larger hope of Embracing the world with God’s love. That is the E3 strategy.
